HRBT - Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel
Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion $3.1B Design Build. Real EC is proud subconsultant partner for the Hampton Road Connecting Partners (HRCP). We provide design services to the temporary works group and precast group. REAL EC also provides testing for cement treated ballast placed in the new tunnel structure.
PRT - Potomac River Tunnel
Potomac River Tunnel Project This $800M Design Build Project will construct a 5-mile tunnel and 8 combined sewer overflows along the Potomac River to convey captured flows for treatment. REAL EC is a subconsultant to the COWI Hatch design team. The scope of services provided include: Design of support of excavation structures for overflow structures including secant piles and sheet piles Micro pile design to support existing seawall structures during construction
I-64/I-464 Interchange Improvements Project
This project aims to enhance traffic safety and reduce congestion at the cloverleaf interchange connecting I-64 with I-464, Route 168, and Dominion Boulevard (Route 17). The $105.9 million contract awarded in early 2024 to Joseph B. Fay Co. includes widening the I-64 east ramp at exit 291A for two lanes, reconfiguring the ramp to I-464 north, and constructing a new flyover ramp bridge for direct access to Route 168.
