Construction Inspector

Position Overview:As a Construction Inspector you will use you highway construction experience to oversee construction quality and compliance. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, leadership, communication, and organizational skills. The qualifications and experience required are geared towards individuals with a proven track record in highway construction inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and ensure the quality of highway and roadway construction work in accordance with project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors and public utility agencies to maintain smooth project progress.
• Assist in preparing contract change orders, estimates, and progress payment documentation.
• Oversee sampling and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with standards.
• Monitor contractor performance and track project progress through regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway and highway construction inspection, preferably on VDOT projects.
• Possession of relevant VDOT certifications (asphalt, paving, concrete, etc.) demonstrating field expertise.
• Strong ability to read and interpret roadway/bridge plans and contract specifications.
