Lab Technician

Position Overview

  • Full-time opportunity for Construction Materials Testing field and/or laboratory technicians.
  • Responsible for performing field and laboratory testing on soils, concrete, and construction materials.
  • Compensation will be based on experience, with excellent benefits and paid vacation included.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe construction activities and document findings with photos and detailed notes.
  • Classify soils and perform hand auger borings.
  • Sample, inspect, and test soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete materials.
  • Operate and maintain field and laboratory testing equipment.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare daily field reports, including sketches where required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project owners, and team members.
  • Work in outdoor environments and on uneven terrain as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Physical capability to lift 40–100 lbs and perform fieldwork duties.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to gain access to federal installations (with company sponsorship).
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Construction Materials Field Technician is preferred.
